As I have been saying in articles and presentations, e-commerce — especially in the low-margin grocery space — is one big money-loser for retailers. Even if (and it remains an “if”) consumers stick with current habits post-pandemic, the retailers themselves will have an incentive to ensure that it does not go too far.
